Constitution Day was celebrated in fine fashion at Avatiu rugby field, also known as The Swamp.

Six women’s and eight men’s teams took to the field for Te Maeva Nui One Day Touch Tournament.

Daphne Brown from Cook Islands Touch Association said they chose to run the competition in a Pa Enua format to give islands the opportunity to start their preparation for the Cook Islands Games to be held in October.

“We also invited our Pacific brothers and sisters who have made Cook Islands their home to also join in,” she said.

“We saw this as a fantastic way to mark our 55th Constitution Day.”
