Following on from the successful Bluesky Boxing Day Touch Tournament, the Bluesky Touch Season competition will kick off with muster games this Wednesday at the Nikao Field.

The muster games which are aimed at providing teams with the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming competition starts at 5.15pm.

Cook Islands Touch Association president Daphne Brown said interested participants were welcomed to join the muster games.

“We welcome all teams including women’s, men’s and mixed to the muster games. This is an opportunity for teams wanting to have warm up games and play an opposition in a friendly match,” Brown said.

“This is also a chance for teams to finalise their players. The Bluesky touch competition will play over two nights – Mondays for open men’s and women’s and Wednesday nights for mixed.

“We expect the season competition proper to start from February 4,” Brown said.

Registration is still open for teams to register for the open men’s, women’s and open and social mixed. Teams can contact either Julz Westrupp on 55055 or Daphne Brown on 54171 to register and for more details regarding the muster and season competition.

“Anyone wishing to referee is most welcome.”
