Gold at the Pacific Games is the focus now for touch rugby players after the action-packed season wrapped up last Wednesday with the mixed division grand finals.

In the bowl final, Aroa Bay proved too strong for the tax collectors at MFEM with an emphatic 11-4 win to lift the bowl.

In the plate final a more youthful Nukz Power outfit managed to hold out the DMD (during my day) Mongoose to win by one point 6-5.

Win or lose, the DMD Mongoose never fail to show up to their games with plenty of enthusiasm and Cook Islands Touch looks forward to seeing even more DMD Mongoose action next season.

As expected, the fanciful and skilled 007 crew led by Andy Kapi took out the cup final against a committed ICI team.

ICI have played steadily all season to earn their spot in the grand finals, however experience was key to the 007 team effort win.

Touch rugby organisers thank Telecom Cook Islands for sponsoring the prizes for the cup finals and all the touch fans, teams and their individual sponsors and supporters. While national players train hard for the Pacific Games in July, the next touch event for the wider community to be involved in will be the Cook Islands Games in August.
