Both runaway and hard-fought open touch rugby matches were the features of last weeks men’s and women’s games which continue today at the Nikao field.

In the women’s division, the fanciful Bounty Hunters were out to kill and let loose on their Nukz Power opponents, who will be disappointed with only one try against the skilled Hunters, who walked away confident winners 8-1.

The young FBI women’s team had an easy win by default over Vaine Toa, while the Lifters were unable to outmuscle the South Coast side with the evenly contested game ending in a 2-all draw.

In the men’s division, Da Boyz were the team of the afternoon with a 8-0 drubbing over the young Nukz Power lads, while Tepuka Boys continued their winning ways with a 5-2 win over the Tumeke Smurfs.

The fitness of the Germinators crew was tested with two games on the day.

They started with a disappointing 2-1 loss against the energetic Manatoa crew before registering a 1-all draw against the under 20 rugby team in their last game.

The Germinators will face the Tepuka Brothers today in what should for a match full of spunk and skill.
