Fancy footwork and lots of fun were all the rage at Nikao field last Wednesday for the touch rugby mixed muster that drew a large crowd of players and supporters to Nikao field.

Mixed touch rugby games are always dynamic and full of action when men and women combine forces on the field.

Wednesday’s first mixed touch rugby muster was no exception with a great turnout of players and supporters at the Nikao field for an action-packed afternoon.

On the field there was no shortage of fancy footwork and cunning backhand and dummy passes as players put on their best skills to overcome their opponents.

As the first-up run is a pre-season gathering, the points from the day’s games will not go towards the end of season outcome.

The first part of the afternoon’s game was dominated by public servants who poured out of their offices for a burst on the field led by Minister of Finance and Sport Mark Brown who is no doubt a big believer in healthy bodies leading to healthy minds.

The battle between the government departments as the season progress is sure to be fun and interesting, with lots of big talk heard already.

This Monday the men’s and women’s open team take to the field again. Games are set to take on a more serious tone, with the season proper starting and all points counting.
