Touch rugby kicks off early in the New Year and eager players can get ready for the season with a blow out at the annual Boxing Day touch tournament.

This year’s tournament will be held on Friday December 26 at the Avatiu field, with the day’s games set to kick off at 9.30am.

The popular annual tournament is the perfect family day out after Christmas Day, with registrations for the tournament now open to all teams.

Registration fees are $120 per team and each team is required to provide a referee.

The end of year tournament will also be a launching pad for the Cook Islands Touch Rugby Association’s preparation for the 2015 Pacific Games in Papua New Guinea.

A first training run was held yesterday at the Takuvaine field, with more training sessions coming up soon for players keen to don the green and gold and represent their country at the Pacific Games.
