Wednesday is set to be an intense afternoon of mixed touch rugby games as teams kick into semi-final and grand finals mode at the Nikao field.

While it’s been a social affair over the season – things are set to become serious today as teams battle it out for the grand final spot and top honours.

While the social Mongoose touch team declared they won their match last week, based on the Mongoose rule that the last team to score wins, it was in fact their younger opponents in the Wackies that took out the game 3-1 with the Mongoose dotting down on the final hooter to register a point in the game.

The Tumeke Smurfs outscored Tereora 5-2 while Telecom didn’t give an inch and won 5-0 against MOE.

Team 007 outclassed Cook Islands Maritime 5-0 while Nukz Power also notched up five tries against their Live Smart opponents.

Team Justice was another five try winning team beating MFEM Kings 5-0 while the Northern Stormers did the damage 5-0 against Westpac.

The first semi-final of the afternoon will see the Telecom team go up against BCI on field one at 5pm while the second semi-final match between Justice and Wackies will be played at the same time on field two.

The second lot of semi-finals is scheduled for 5.24pm between the Northern Stormers on field one and the Nukz Power taking on Tumeke Smurfs on field two.

Winners of the first two semi-final games at 5pm will then square off at 5.48pm with the grand finals scheduled to play at 6.12pm.

The prizegiving will be held after the grand finals.
