Under 20s ready for historic matches

The Cook Islands Under-20 football side is set for the historic debut in the OFC U20 Championship at Luganville Soccer City Stadium in Santo, Vanuatu today.

EIGHTEEN football coaches in Rarotonga took part in a FIFA Youth Coaching course last week, facilitated by FIFA instructor Giovani Fernandes at the Cook Islands Football Association Complex in Matavera.

The Rarotonga Round Cup Football Competition will continue today with the Prime Foods Under 8 and 11 mixed and the Hori Signs U17 men’s division matches.

PRESEASON tournament winner Puaikura failed to make a winning start to their Rarotonga Round Cup Championship campaign after a stalemate in their opening Van’s Limited premier men’s division match last week.

The opening premier men’s match for 2016 Round Cup Championship title will see pre-season tournament champs Puaikura taking on Nikao Sokattak at the Raemaru Park this afternoon.

PUAIKURA is set to host the first lot of midweek matches in the Rarotonga Round Cup Competition today as they take on Nikao Sokattak at Raemaru Park in Arorangi.

Nikao Sokattak crowned U17 champs

In wet and slippery conditions, the Nikao Sokattak under-17 men’s team retained their championship title after defeating Takuvaine 2-1 in the 2016 Rarotonga pre-season football finals on Friday evening.
