Defending champions Tupapa Maraerenga will take on arch-rivals Nikao Sokattak in round three of the Rarotonga premier men’s football competition today.
The match to be played at Nikao Field will kick off at 4.15pm.
The two teams last met in the 2019 Vans Premiership final. Tupapa won that match. The side will head into today’s clash as the top bet after starting the 2020 season on a high with two wins from two matches so far.
Tupapa veterans Grover Harmon, Paavo Mustonen and Geoff Strickland have been outstanding scoring more than 10 goals between them in the last two matches. They will be the players to look out for against Nikao.
Striker Julius David and Sam Koiatu will spearhead Nikao’s campaign against the visitors. The two are the leading goal scorers for Nikao who has a win and a loss so far in the competition.
In the other match, Titikaveka will take on Matavera Ngatangiia at the CIFA Complex.
Titikaveka’s Akiona Tairi and young Nuku Mokoroa have led the team’s attack in the previous two matches. Tairi scored a hattrick against Nikao on Monday. Matavera will be eyeing their first win after a loss and a draw.
