Tupapa Maraerenga will be all out for a win to improve their chances of winning the Round Cup Championship title. Report from CIFA Media.

Puaikura will take the underdog tag in today’s mouthwatering premier men’s football clash against Tupapa Maraerenga at Victoria Park.

The much anticipated fierce battle between the arch-rivals is expected to be a thriller.

Puaikura have had an average season, placing them as underdogs heading into today’s match which kicks off at 3pm.

Although they are deemed the second best, the visitors always put up a good contest when they play top sides.

Young stars Maeva Robati and Joseph Tuaputa have played key roles for Puaikura on attack in recent and past games.

The speedy and skillful pair have proved lethal at creating goal scoring opportunities for their side and will likely step up to take the challenge of doing just that in the crucial clash.

Tupapa’s defense has a lot of experience and they have done well to avoid conceding goals throughout the season. The challenge of scoring against them will fall on the Puaikura attacking duo and the match will provide a good platform to test their ability.

Since bouncing back from a disappointing start, Tupapa’s attacking play has improved significantly. They have managed to rack up a number of goals against teams and come away victorious. Their goal will be to register maximum points and remain a top contender for the 2019 Round Cup title.

In the women’s clash at 1.30pm, host Tupapa will be going all out for a win to come close of defending their title.

But Puaikura will be no pushover and the side will be aiming for a win in hope of climbing to second place on the points table. However their second place dream will depend heavily on the match between Titikaveka and Avatiu.

Puaikura have denied Tupapa victory once already this season and they are very capable of doing it again.

A loss for Tupapa will also make their Round Cup Championship defense campaign challenging and could potentially give Puaikura some opportunity to steal the Cup away.
