Puaikura will host Avatiu in their third meeting in the 2019 Rarotonga football competition at Raemaru Park today.

With both sides coming from losses last week in the men’s division, today’s battle between these two is expected to be a thriller.

In last week’s match, Avatiu proved a tough battle for Nikao, giving the latter a good run for their money.

Avatiu goalkeeper Henry Tanga had an outstanding game. He will be crucial today against a fiery Puaikura side.

On the other hand, Puaikura will likely be aiming to redeem themselves after their loss last week to minnows Matavera.

Puaikura defender Jarves Aperau will be a key player for the side but he will need to step up against Avatiu. His attacking teammates however will need to make their scoring opportunities count to have any chance of winning the match.

Avatiu will be badly seeking points to get off the bottom of the table while Puaikura will be aiming for a win to keep their third place spot on the ladder.

In the women’s division, an anticipated match between the two clubs will kick off at 2.30pm today.

Puaikura is currently sitting in third place followed by Avatiu. Both sides will be hungry for points in a bid to climb up the ladder. A loss for either side could ruin their hopes of a top three finish.
