After a semifinal weekend that delivered maximum drama, there is plenty to look forward to ahead of the CIFA Knockout Cup Final between Tupapa Maraerenga and Nikao Sokattak in the 4pm Senior Men’s clash at the CIFA Complex.

It is difficult not to be impressed with the way that Tupapa Maraerenga have played during the 2018 Rarotonga Football season.

Nikao Sokattak have been the second best team in the Round Cup Competition all season long, but they have been nowhere near as consistence as they wish to be and this has been somewhat of an issue.

These are two sides packed with players with big-game experience so a dour 0-0 game is unlikely.

Grover Harmon have been simply superb this season and his leadership skills in the middle will be crucial come this afternoon. Harmon’s calm nature and ability to stay composed for the full 90 minutes will certainly have a positive effect on his Tupapa side.

Julius David, Toru Mateariki and Mark Leito have been clinical with the ball at their feet and their speed makes them a headache for any opposition, so expect them to wreak havoc on the pitch for Nikao Sokattak.

Both sides have the ability to score goals, both sides can dominate midfields and both sides have solid backlines. This game will come down to which backline holds up better and which goalkeeper makes the least amount of mistakes

In the senior women’s division Tupapa Maraerenga and Titikaveka always bring an enthralling element to their encounters. This year’s Knockout Cup Final should be no different.

When it comes to overall dominance in the women's game, you will not find two more evenly matched teams than Tupapa Maraerenga and Titikaveka.

The two teams have faced each other three times during the Round Cup Competition and the scores were tied in all their encounters so the team who wins this Knockout Cup Final match up will earn bragging rights and the Knockout Cup trophy.

The day will kick off with the U-14 Girls where Nikao Sokattak will take on Round Cup Champions Puaikura at 12:30pm. The U-14 Boys Division will see Tupapa Maraerenga battle it out with Titikaveka.

Who will be crowned the 2018 CIFA Knock-Out Cup champion?  Intrigued?  Then head out to the CIFA complex and watch it for yourself.  Overall it will be a great end to the season with plenty of football action and thrill to keep supporters entertained.

Admission is $3, Children under 11 years is Free.  Come and support your team!!
