The Matavera premier men’s football team will be looking to bounce back from their 4-2 loss to Avatiu last Saturday in their second match of the Round Cup competition tomorrow.

However, the side will face a daunting task against tough Tupapa Maraerenga at the CIFA Complex. Despite the opening loss, Matavera remain an upbeat team, heading into round two with high hopes.

Matavera has nothing to lose, but if they want to put points on the table, a win is a must to see them better their chances of getting into the top half of the points table. This match will be a good test for both teams as they continue to fine-tune their sides for the rest of the 2018 football season.

The battle between Matavera and Tupapa Maraerenga will kick off today at the CIFA Complex, commencing from 4pm with the U14 boys’ division, followed by the senior women’s division at 5pm. The Tupapa Maraerenga women’s side will enter the match as the firm favourites after demolishing Puaikura 9-0 last week, while Matavera went down to Avatiu 0-9 in round one.
