Games start at noon in the women’s division, with the last match of the day at 4.30pm.
The week-long football competition will no doubt provide quality football for those who will be cheering from the sidelines.
Both the men and women are drawn into two groups. The teams in Group A are Aitutaki, Avarua, Puaikura and Atiu, while Group B is comprised of Takitumu, Mitiaro, Mangaia and Mauke.
The first match at the CIFA Complex will feature the Avarua women’s team battling it out with Aitutaki at noon.
The host team at Takitumu School will also begin their campaign at noon, playing against the visiting women’s team from Mitiaro.
Both women’s matches will be followed at each location by their respective men’s games at 1.30pm.
The second match-up for the day at the CIFA Complex will be between Puaikura and Atiu, starting with the women at 3pm and the men at 4.30pm.
Over at Takitumu School, Mangaia will take on Mauke, with the women’s match also kicking off at 3pm and men at 4.30pm.
Teams competing in the championship include the three districts from Rarotonga – Avarua, Puaikura and Takitumu – together with five of the outer islands – Aitutaki, Atiu, Mangaia, Mauke and Mitiaro.
