The event is part of the Just Play Village Festival community initiative heading to the west to celebrate International Sport for Development and Peace Day.
Just Play caters for boys and girls aged 5-13 in a safe and fun environment.
Children gain confidence from positive fun experiences and sport has become the world language that is helping break down barriers, it is a powerful tool for progress and for development in our community and around the world,” says Just Play project manager Michelle Paiti.
Promoting healthy lifestyles through key messages in health, gender, care and protection and inclusion are an important aspect of the programme, helping to contribute to many of the Cook Islands’ sustainable development goals.
Various sports activities will be on offer in a rotation system to keep the children active for the afternoon.
Water is provided with assistance from Pacific Spring. Parents just need to organise their children with their hats and sunblock and send them on down to Rutaki School field.
