Cook Islands football is venturing into new territory with a national men’s and women’s soccer tournament launching in April on Rarotonga. The eight-day event is set to take off from April 14 to 21.

The tournament shines the spotlight on Rarotonga and the outer islands, as it will bring together the best football talent from around the Cook Islands.

It is therefore clearly a tournament of stars and it will be exciting to see which new names will emerge from the tournament, with an incredible lineup of teams on the field.

The eight sides will be drawn into two groups (Group A and Group B), each containing four teams, who will play one another on a round-robin basis. The top two sides in each group then advance to the semi-finals.

Participating teams in the senior men’s and women’s tournament for 2018 are Aitutaki, Atiu, Mangaia, Mitiaro, Mauke, Avarua, Takitumu and Puaikura.
