THE CHAMPIONS of the premier men’s Round Cup, Puaikura FC, have shifted focus to their crucial test today against Takuvaine in the final leg of the knockout eliminations competition.

The two sides will meet again in the do-or-die clash at 4.30pm at the CIFA Complex this evening.

The showdown is expected to thrill and keep the action sizzling from the opening whistle with both teams boasting quality and experienced players who helped them finish on top of the table in the Round Cup Championship.

This is their third meeting of the season. When the two sides met for the first time in Puaikura it was Puaikura that dominated Takuvaine with a 4-1 win.

But that all changed in the second round when Takuvaine held on their much fancied opponent 1-all at home.

It will be interesting to see how today’s match plays out as they take on each other at a neutral field in the battle for a place in the final.

The Anthony Samuela-coached side will be going into the match as favourites but the strong-willed Takuvaine, brimming with potential cannot be underestimated.    Overall, it will be a match to watch out for in today’s fixtures. The Puaikura versus Takuvaine premier men’s clash will be the final match of the day following the juniors and senior women’s semifinal games at the CIFA Complex.
