This is the second year in-a-row the team has claimed the top spot in the Islander Hotel Women’s Round Cup competition. The side registered nine wins and a loss to finish the 2016 season on 27 points.
Tupapa Maraerenga will put their win behind to focus towards the CIFA knockout competition.
Although the side is crowned the champions in the women’s division, there is no escaping the knockout rounds this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Tupapa Maraerenga Football Club also took out the Bank of the South Pacific Under-14 girl’s division title for the sixth year-in-a-row, as well as the U11 mixed division title.
It’s also been a great Round Cup season for the Titikaveka Football Club who managed to snatch the BSP U14 boys and Prime Foods U8 mixed division titles.
Nikao Sokattak was the outstanding winners of the Hori Signs U17 men’s division.
Overall, it’s been another incredible season filled with plenty of surprising and interesting results and most of all, quality football action across all divisions. With the knockout rounds now in progress, the focus now shifts to the U14 boys and senior women’s clashes today at the Takitumu School field. Puaikura will face off against Matavera in the U14 boys division, while the Puaikura women’s side is set to face the knockout battle against Titikaveka.
It’s going to be another thrilling afternoon of football with competing teams gunning for wins.
