It’s hard to find someone as passionate about rugby as New Zealand High Commission to Cook Islands’ first secretary Okesene Moananu.

Moananu believes in the power of keeping our children fit and healthy through physical activity.

Kids who play sport usually stay out of trouble.

He also wants to use his experience to teach the basic skills of rugby to both boys and girls to prepare them for the upcoming junior rugby season.

Despite the threat of Tropical Cyclone Tino hitting Rarotonga, Victoria Park was the place to be on Saturday for a junior rugby clinic.

Defence work, ball skills, passing drills and a game of touch rugby was the order of the day.
