The tournament which will be played over three Saturdays will feature five clubs. They include Cowboys, Yalovata, Panthers, Manatoa and Mangaia.
The first two weeks will see round robin matches followed by the finals.
The tournament will be played at Takuvaine Field, Victoria Park and the Swamp in Avatiu.
Entry fee to the games is $2 for adults and for children under-16 is free.
The Raro International Sevens will be held from October 31 to November 2.
Sixteen men’s teams and four women’s are registered, representing an expansion on last year’s tournament, which involved 13 men’s teams and four women’s. Organisers are expecting more than 5000 people to attend.
Presumably, part of the uptick in interest has to do with an expanded prize pool, which last year jumped from $19,000 to $22,000.
