For some rugby clubs, the senior B grade is as pivotal as the main senior A grade team.

It’s no wonder as the grade is generally made up of yesteryears super stars and up and coming players still trying to break into the premier grade.
It’s the grade where players seem to have the most fun however fun will be the last thing on the minds of the Arorangi Cowboys and Avatiu Eels senior B teams who will go head to head tomorrow in the divisions grand finals at the BCI Stadium.
This should be an interesting match with both teams having played each other twice this season with one-win a piece.
The Eels won their round on battle comprehensively 43-3.
However three weeks ago in their round two clash the Cowboys were able to square the ledger, the Cowboys winning this match 17-0.
The Eels were able to win their way into the finals after defeating the Bulls two weeks ago 14-7.
The Cowboys defeated the Bulls 41-15 last weekend in the major semi’s.
However the Cowboys will be weakened this week after some of their leading players were ‘captured’ playing in last week’s senior A grade losing semi-final match.
The Eels will be hungry for some game time after having last weekend off with a rest.
Players to watch out for the Eels are hardworking forwards including prop Terence Maruariki, lock Steven Hiro, flanker Tony Silica and their backs, midfielder Byron Brown and fullback Tony Vainerere.
Players to watch for the Cowboys have been their busy hooker Aaron Pekepo, centre Puna Rata supported by his wingmen Ricky Carlson and Pare Mare.
The Triad Petroleum sponsored senior B match will kick-off at 3pm on Saturday at the BCI Stadium.
Grand final draw – 10.30am Under 12 ALL Clubs, 11.30am Under 14 Eels v Takitumu, 12.35pm Under 16 Eels v Cowboys, 1.45pm Under 19 Eels v Cowboys, 3pm Senior B Eels v Cowboys, 4.15pm Reds v Eels.
