Experts probe for lagoon issue

To help find a sustainable solution to improve the Muri lagoon water quality – experts from two Australian universities are on the island conducting a series of lagoon and land based tests to build a better picture of the Muri environment.

To connect the water sub-main from private and commercial properties to the new ring mains around Rarotonga, Landholdings Ltd have been awarded the contract to undertake these commissioning works (pipe connections) starting in early 2018.

This year’s Rakei Manava event, a platform for creative expression through cultural costumes, promises to deliver the best in Cook Islands-inspired dance costumes.

Vaka Eiva strongmen will put their paddles up for the worthy White Ribbon cause – a movement dedicated to ending violence against women.

Australian masters women crew Team One from the Western Beaches Outrigger Club are looking forward to paddling in Rarotonga sun for the Vaka Eiva festival.

PADDLING purely for the enjoyment of it has created a strong bond among the Ngakau Toa Vaka senior women’s crew, who are eager to put months of hard training to the test.
