The Oe Vaka Corporate Race Day will be held on Saturday next week.

There are limited spots left and Cook Islands Canoeing Association secretary and event organiser Eva Allsworth is encouraging all teams who are wanting to register to get in quick before they miss out. Registrations are open until next week Thursday.

The event is a fun-filled day, with teams competing for a chance to win a variety of sponsored prizes.

“It’s high-calibre paddling,” said Allsworth. “However, some teams come here knowing that they aren’t the most competitive, but they still try hard and have fun doing so.”

There are numerous events taking place on Oe Vaka Corporate Race Day, including races between government department teams. All races are in the V12 format and steerers are supplied.

Participating teams will be able to book a training time at Nikao Beach from this coming Monday to Friday.

There are also a number of spot prizes on the day, including prizes for the best costumes.

Twenty-two teams competed at the last event, with Vaiana’s 21.3 Strokers taking out first place.
