Golfer William Howard led the Team Cook Islands as the flagbearer at the Pacific Mini Games opening ceremony yesterday in Vanuatu.

Twenty-two athletes will represent the country at the Pacific Mini Games which starts this weekend in Vanuatu.

The battle for the Cook Islands National Optimist Championship title will rage on this Saturday at the Rarotonga Sailing Club in an all-day event.

Seven-hour battle to land giant fish

It was a titanic battle last week between man and fish, as a crew from Marlin Queen Fishing Charters and visiting angler Jason Rowe pulled in a gigantic 310kg marlin after an epic seven-hour struggle on Friday.

The Cook Islands Triathlon Association Inc will kick off their 2017/18 season this week.

It was certainly an afternoon to remember as Commonwealth Games fever swept through Victoria Park in Tupapa on Monday with a good 200 children taking up the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Queen’s Baton.
