Four Cook Islands swimmers – all medal contenders – have been banned from competing in the Pacific Games.

The new eligibility criteria at the 2019 Pacific Games restrict Pacific nations from being able to compete at their best.

Matanoko McDonald (pictured) has never been to the Cook Islands, but she isn’t letting that stop her from representing the country at the 2019 Pacific Games in Samoa.
