CITC opens Matavera store

The latest Cook Islands Trading Corporation venture, “KAPS Matavera”, was officially opened on a wet Wednesday afternoon.

Today’s Te Maeva Nui float parade with feature a total of 38 floats and is guaranteed to be plenty of fun.

In a special ceremony on Tuesday morning, community members and church leaders came together at Nikao CICC to celebrate the laying of the foundations on the new home for Reverend Oirua Rasmussen and his family.

Over 120 people have travelled from Penrhyn for this year’s Te Maeva Nui, an increase on number who visited Rarotonga for the 2015 celebrations marking 50 years since the Cook Islands became self-governing in free association with New Zealand.
