Moving blessing of Atupare Marae

The blessing of the Atupare marae by Bishop Tutai Pere yesterday morning was witnessed by dignitaries and many who attended the special occasion at the House of Ariki in Puaikura.

The island of Atiu heard sounds of sirens from its first fully equipped ambulance that was blessed by Reverend Yakilia yesterday morning.

Te Fuinga o Niva, a local group, sang and danced with Prime Minister Henry Puna in recognition of his years of service as the nation’s leader at the blessing of Atupare Marae in Puaikura yesterday.
