In an effort to promote and celebrate Cook Islands culture, the organisers of this year’s quick rip rugby tournament are asking teams to put forward their best pe'e.

Excitement is building for the Quick Rip U11 and U13 rugby tournament in the Vodafone Rising Stars Championship to be held at Raemaru Park, Arorangi on Wednesday next week.

Teams from schools around Rarotonga are being encouraged to register by 4pm tomorrow, and there are great prizes up for grabs for both boys’ and girls’ teams.

This year there will also be a pe'e challenge.

To enter, each school team has been asked to video themselves performing a pe'e and submit it on the Vodafone Rising Stars Championship Facebook page with a number of different hashtags including #quickriprugby, #peechallenge and #yourschoolname.

The deadline to submit the pe'e is Monday, and only one entry per school is permitted. The winner will be announced on the day of the tournament.
