The Tupapa Maraerenga Centre was fired up with 40 young gymnastic kids for the annual gymnastics’ competition yesterday afternoon.

“Motivate, Encourage, Reward”, is the theme for the Cook Islands Gymnastics Federation’s third event.

Each child performed a set of routines and were rewarded with a certificate evaluating each routine.

A team of volunteer judges were trained by the Oceania Gymnastics Union secretary general Brooke Kneebush, who is currently visiting from Australia.

The judges will provide constructive feedback using a scaled rating system, helping the gymnasts to understand the standard of their performances and motivating them towards improvement.

This event would not have been possible without the valuable contribution of the Cook Islands Gymnastics Federation’s dedicated coaches who undertake continual training and planning to ensure the gymnasts participate in a quality progressive programme.
