Fishing solo aboard his small 16 foot aluminium vessel, it took more than an hour for Selam to finally reel the marlin in close enough to head to shore.
Good friend, Pauro Arnold also steered out to assist tow dragging the large marlin onto land.
The marlin was weighed at the Cook Islands Game Fishing Club with weighmaster Kirk Denison at hand.
