The Track and Field Club Rarotonga (TFC) is having another mini competition at the BCI Stadium today.

This will be the final time Cook Islands Olympic athlete Patricia Taea will be on the track helping out the athletes.

For the past two weeks, the national sprinter has been selflessly giving her time and expertise to the young athletes of TFC and helping them increase their knowledge and skills in sprints on the track.

“The competition today will be an opportunity for the athletes to show off to her what they have learnt and have put into action,” TFC’s Ruth Mave said.

“We expect some healthy competition between the male under 18 years and female under 16 years.”

There is strong potential showing already in these groups and with continued focus and training with coaches Mave, Erin Tierney, Thomas Henderson and Harmon, it is expected these athletes will be the names to watch for in the near future.

TFC will be bringing in more guest coaches later on in the year.
