The Rarotonga Golf Club will welcome a sea of green and white this weekend to mark the second Heineken Golf Tournament, supported by CITC Liquor and Dominion Breweries.

Golf club members will take the green tomorrow to compete for a number of great prizes.

This year, all golfers are asked to dress in the Heineken colours of green and white.

Those who go the extra-mile and dress to the theme the best, will also take home a prize.

CITC liquor manager John Snowball says he is looking forward to the second year of the Heineken Golf Tournament and is excited to be presenting some “amazing” prizes to the winners this weekend.

“The prizes include a home entertainment system, a golf trundler, Heineken merchandise, and a number of other spot prizes,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to an awesome day out, and hope to see lots of golfers dressed in their ‘Heineken Best’. We appreciate the opportunity and are happy to support this event once again.”

The tournament is open to all Rarotonga Golf Club members with tee off to start at 7am.

Rarotonga Golf Club president George George thanked CITC and Dominion Breweries for again sponsoring the stableford event.

“We are blessed and pleased for all the support from CITC and Heineken coming in again this year to support our calendar event.

“A lot of our members look forward to it so it will be exciting, especially with CITC bringing in a lot of great prizes and some great Heineken products for our members to win.”

Eddie Marama won the tournament in its inaugural year last year and George expects another tough tussle for the main prize.

In-form Kris “Gunz” Williamson will be the top bet in the men’s competition after recent success at the Nikao golf course.

More than 100 golfers are expected to compete in tomorrow’s event.
