Cook Islands Rugby Union (CIRU) has finalised its 2017 calendar with an action-packed season starting this weekend.

The domestic rugby union competition will kick off with the pre-season Steinlager Sevens Tournament at Takuvaine Field on June 10 and 17.

This will be followed by the Bluesky Rarotonga Primary Schools Rugby 10s Tournament on June 21 and 28.

The domestic weekly club competition featuring the six clubs from Rarotonga will start on June 24.

Cook Islands Rugby Union will also be hosting some overseas teams in the senior and age group divisions this season. In July, the United Kingdom-based Malvern Schools under-16 and U18 teams will take on Tereora College at the BCI Stadium.

Cook Islands national side will host Tahiti in the 2019 Rugby World Cup Qualifiers match on August 4 at the BCI Stadium.

The domestic club competition finals will be held on September 22 and 23 followed by four Steinlager Sevens tournaments in October.

The season will end with the Rarotonga Rugby Sevens Tournament to be played from November 2 and 4.
