Experienced Cook Islands athletes (from left) discus and shot put thrower Tereapii Tapoki, 800m runner Alex Beddoes, who will also compete in the 400m and 1500m races, sailors Taua Elisa and Junior Charlie along with Teau McKenzie, weightlifter Luisa Peters and national sprinter Patricia Taea have a strong bond and the common goal of doing the people of the Cook Islands proud.

The team of 7 athletes were photographed before attending a Catholic mass and traditional Wallisian kava ceremony on Sunday. The team will join fellow regional teams at the opening ceremony of the Wallis and Futuna Pacific Mini Games on Monday afternoon before sports competitions kick off on Tuesday. The team is being led by team chef de mission Robert Graham, Cook Islands Sports and National Olympic Committee (CISNOC) president Hugh Graham and associate sports minister John Henry.
