The Cook Islands national netball team players haven’t spent much time together but on the two occasions they have come together in camp as a unit have been “quality time”.

Six weeks in the Singapore super league netball tournament will have national netball defender Lenae Tiaiti match ready when she takes to the courts next week for the Pacific Netball Series.

Members of the national netball squad visited Telecom Cook Islands yesterday to pick up mobile top up cards and wireless top up vouchers as part of the communication company’s support of the national netball team.

Arorangi, Tupapa and the Titikaveka Pearls premier netball teams registered wins the courts this week.

Early bird season passes and general admission tickets to a fiesta of Pacific netball are now on sale.

Titikaveka defeated Avatiu in their premier grade match on Saturday, leaving defending champions Avatiu with plenty to think about and work on as the season inches towards the end.

Takuvaine netters got off to a great start welcoming round two of the domestic netball season with a 73-51 win over Ngatangiia on Wednesday night.

“Sport is a huge part of our society and Government acknowledges the economic contributions of events such as the Pacific Netball Series and so we want to give back,” commented Minister of Sport Mark Brown as he presented Netball Cook Islands with a $60,000 cheque.

Round two of the domestic netball season gets underway this evening as club teams tighten up their acts as they aim for top honours in their respective grades.
