Rising stars begin action

THE SPORT of netball’s role in creating a healthy society was highlighted at the opening ceremony of the inaugural junior Rising Stars Netball Championship on Wednesday night.

Lifting netball skills from village club level to international standards is the key drive behind the highly anticipated inaugural “Rising Stars Netball Championship” tournament.

Titikaveka have maintained their dominance in the domestic netball competition following another powerful campaign in the 2016 season which reached its climax over the weekend.

THE COOK ISLANDS netball under-21 side is gearing well for the 2016 Oceania Netball World Youth Cup Qualifiers set for September 26 to 29 in North Harbour, Auckland.

Arorangi overcame Takuvaine in the Rarotonga Netball Club competition semi-final over the weekend to book its place in the premier showdown against the undefeated Titikaveka.
