Dragonflies unbeaten in fight for title

With two more weeks remaining before the playoffs, the Avatiu Dragonflies’ premier side remains unbeaten in the Rising Stars Netball Championship.


On Saturday, the side defeated Arorangi Flames 49-38 in a close battle at Raemaru courts to maintain their lead on the points table.

The win makes the Avatiu Dragonflies top contenders for the championship title, which will be decided next month.

In the 11 and under match between the two teams, it was the Flames who came out on top, beating the Dragonflies 24-12. Flames also won the 17 and under match 43-29 while the 13 and under clash was won by the Dragonflies 35-4.

The Titikaveka Pearls and Tupapa Panthers premier teams were on bye over the weekend.

They are expected to take the courts this weekend.
