Rising Stars Netball continues

Saturday August 25, 2018 Written by Published in Netball

For the second week in a row, only a single game will take place in the premier grade in round six of the Rising Stars Netball Championship.

The Tupapa Panthers host the top of the table Avatiu Dragonflies today, while the Titikaveka Pearls and Arorangi Flames have the weekend off.

The Panthers will be hoping to build upon their last game that took place back in round four, when they gained their first win of this year’s competition against the Flames.

The two sides met in the opening round of this year’s competition, with Avatiu winning in that encounter 48-37.

Anania Piri was strong in defence during that game back in July for Tupapa, finishing with 14 intercepts and no doubt her team will be hoping for a similar performance today against the experienced Avatiu shooters.

Meanwhile, in the 17U competition, top-dog Arorangi will host the Tereora B team, as they continue to stride towards the finals.

While in the other game this weekend, the Panthers will host Avatiu, who in their last game were defeated by Arorangi.

With only four rounds remaining before the knock-out finals begin, every team will be out to ensure they claim the points on offer.
