The Tereora College team has now moved from premiers into the U17 grade, giving the school two teams in this particular age group in the competition.
The change is said to have come about as a result of the withdrawal of Ngatangiia from the U17 grade, leaving an opening for Tereora.
Rising Stars tournament co-ordinator Kopu Anguna said they were approached to make the change, which was also on the back of the large defeat the team experienced last weekend at the hands of the Titikaveka Pearls, Tereora going down 90-18.
All of which now means one less team will be turning out in the premier competition, which will unfortunately leave the Arorangi Flames on the sidelines again this weekend after last weekend receiving points by way of a default from the Ngatangiia-Matavera Sea Galz.
Meanwhile, the Tupapa Panthers will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle as they host the fast-flying Titikaveka Pearls.
Avatiu Dragonflies will be travelling to Ngatangiia to take on the Sea Galz.
Schools v Titikaveka Pearls: Under-11, 5-28; Premier, 18-90. Avatiu Dragonflies v Tupapa Panthers: Under-11, 7-17; Under-13, 45-6; Under-17, 31-25; Premier, 48-37. Ngatangiia-Matavera Sea Eagles v Arorangi Flames: Under-11, 14-19; Under-13, 40-20; Under-17, 5-75; Premier, default win to Arorangi.
