Takuvaine, who have been strong in the pre-season competition, squared off against Arorangi, triumphing by a slim five-point margin, 33-28.
In the other first round battle, it was Tupapa against Avatiu, with the former grinding out a low scoring game, 22-16, to claim victory.
The second round of matches were fiercely fought affairs, both ending up in draws.
Arorangi and Tupapa fought to a 23-all stalemate, while Avatiu and Takuvaine managed a high-scoring affair that finished 30-all.
Meanwhile, in the junior premier division, Arorangi defeated Titikaveka with a convincing 35-20.
The domestic netball season will be starting next week, March 14, with the one senior open and a mixed team.
The rest of the grades will be playing on March 17 on the club courts following the rugby league draw.
