Last night, the Black Pearls defeated Ireland 40-32 to retain their perfect run in the annual event.
In earlier matches, the national side defeated Malaysia 69-35 before overcoming Hong Kong 48-33.
The clash against Ireland, which entered the match unbeaten, proved a real thriller.
“After the first and second quarters the scores were tied, after the third quarter the girls had pulled away by two, to take the win at full time 40-32,” said Netball Cook Islands executive Andrea Rongokea.
“Credit to Ireland who fought the entire game and didn’t let up until the final whistle.
“For our Black Pearls, there were some awesome (and nail-biting) moments. Another fantastic display of team work and commitment to bring home our third win.”
Netball Cook Islands president PJ Hockin was also pleased with the team’s performance so far in the Nations Cup.
“The team is bonding well, ‘good work’ to coach, Dale Atkinson, and manager Mary Souchon,” she said.
Cook Islands was scheduled to play Swaziland last night before taking on the host nation Singapore in the final match.
