The Rising Stars netball championship headed into round nine on the weekend with games in town and country on the south side.

At the swamp, the Future Stars 12U match, as predicted, was hotly contested between hosts Avatiu Dragonflies and Ngatangiia-Matavera SeaGalz right up until the end of the match.

The SeaGalz remain high-flying and undefeated in the competition, just swishing by the hosts with one point, 18 - 17.

In the Shooting Stars 20+ division, Avatiu Dragonflies are the classy ladies in the lead, untouchable against any opponents they’ve played so far, and the SeaGalz were another team to feel their wrath in the 85 – 24 win.

Rising Stars 15U Dragonflies bested their east side counterparts 40 - 6.

The Dragonflies 19U had a bye for the day.

On the south side, Titikaveka Pearls took on Tupapa-Maraerenga Panthers in glistening form, taking out all three divisions played on the day over the Panthers.

This coming Saturday marks the last games of the second round, and teams will head to the Bluesky Sports Arena for knockouts.

Come out to the village courts one last weekend and support our Rising Stars.
