Takitumu principal Carly Ave said although the Rarotonga Primary Schools Rippa Rugby competition had to be cancelled again due to the continuous rainy weather, the girls had an enjoyable time going up against each other in the netball competition.
“We got all the primary schools on the island represented during the games yesterday,” said Ave.
“The children had a great day, everyone played by the rules and it was good to see a lot of great sportsmanship here.
“We as organisers are really proud about that.
“Teams such as the A graders have really stood out and netball at this level - for our primary school players - seems to have kept on improving every year,” she said.
Ave added that all the players showcased professionalism in the game allowing every game to go as planned.
“As host this year, we are really happy of today, the way the day has been set up, the hype, the fun that everyone enjoyed the day’s programme.
“I would like to thank Bluesky, the Bank of the South Pacific, Netball Cook Islands not forgetting Prime Food and CISNOC.
“Much appreciation also goes out to all the schools, the team coaches, all netballers, supporters and the teachers themselves for without them, today’s programme wouldn’t have been this successful,” she said.
