The Cook Islands Cricket Under-19 side returned home a week ago after a successful tour of New Zealand tour.

A masterclass in batting saw Country cruise to a six-wicket victory over Town in the third annual 21 South Group Vaka of Origin Series.

It wasn’t the perfect start, but the Cook Islands Cricket under-19 team won the hearts of the officials and supporters in the opening match of the New Zealand tour on Sunday.

While it was business as usual for the Turangi women’s cricket team on finals day at the weekend, the club’s stranglehold on men’s cricket was broken as Tupapa Panthers stole their crown in spectacular fashion.
