The Takuvaine women’s side made history after finishing on their all-time best ranking in The Computer Man cricket competition.

The club raised eyebrows after featuring in their first 3rd/4th place playoff in the competition over the weekend.

Takuvaine took on Arorangi Takuvaine in the playoff and defeated them by an overwhelming 100 runs at the Happy Valley.

The home team batted first and raced to 148 runs from their 20 overs before putting on a fine show in the second inning to restrict Arorangi to just 48 runs.

In addition to their highest club placing, Takuvaine is the only team to have beaten Muri in three years.

Meanwhile the Muri men’s side recorded a comfortable win against Arorangi Red Backs in the bottom six consolation final to finish the season on fifth place.

Muri required just 13 overs to reach Arorangi’s total of 160.

In the penultimate top four competition, the Titans defeated Matavera to finish their season in third place.

The final round matches will be held this weekend with Avana hosting Muri in the women’s grand final while Tupapa will defend their title against Turangi.
