With a total of eight teams involved in today’s super sixes grand finals day to be held at the Turangi Cricket Ova, cricket fans can expect an action-packed paporo kirikiti games.
Cook Islands Cricket chief executive officer Alister Stevic said the sixes competition had been a lot of fun and teams had played in good spirits, despite the many interruptions caused by rain.
“There were a number of games postponed for rain and funerals, however the teams, in the majority, were very well organised in rescheduling their matches and everyone has had a great time.”
The finals day will be held at the Turangi Cricket Oval starting with the women’s playoff for third and fourth at 1pm between Hine Moana and Las Senoritas.
The men’s third and fourth playoff between Matavera and Aitutaki will follow at 2pm before the main match finals.
The main women’s finals between the Tem Store Creeps and Cook Islands Diplomats starts at 3pm and will be followed by what is expected to be a fiery men’s grand finals between the Tem Store Creeps and Titans at 4pm.
