There were mixed results in this week’s The Computer Man sponsored six-a-side cricket competition.

Matavera recovered from last week’s 69-run drubbing by the Titans with a comprehensive win of their own over Tupapa on Monday.

Batting first, Matavera scored 70 runs, with Tupapa managing just 30 in reply.

Matavera couldn’t keep the momentum going into their next match on Tuesday, losing against opponents The Tem Store Creeps.

The win sees The Tem Store Creeps go top of the table with Matavera in third.

The Titans occupy second on the table, however they have played one less match than the other teams.

After the passing of cricketing stalwart Terry Lambert, the Titans versus Tem Store Creeps match has been postponed to Monday May 25 in Turangi.

The women got their The Computer Man super sixes competition off the ground this week with two very close matches.

Wednesday’s matches saw a close battle between the women’s Tem Store Creeps and the Hine Moana sides.

Hine Moana batted first, posting a competitive 69 runs from their six overs with the match going down to the last ball with The Tem Store Creeps winning the match courtesy of a wide ball from the Hine Moana bowler.

Over in Turangi the Cook Islands Diplomats were up against Tina Mato’s young Las Senoritas team. The Diplomats batted first and amassed 110 runs from their six overs.

Las Senoritas gave it a good nudge but fell five runs short on 105.

At time of printing the Diplomats were to take on the Tem Store Creeps in Turangi and the Las Senoritas faced Hine Moana in Matavera.
