Maybe the authorities should issue a small licence card with a doggy photo, tag number, date, plus the owner’s name and address. It could cost $10 for another licence if lost. Would be rather like a road check.
Dogs must be de-sexed before they can be registered, so would the police tell us why it costs $50 for a male but $60 for a female? Gender inequality gone barking mad!
MAGGIE DOES A GOOD JOB
Please stop saying bad things about George Maggie. He is doing a good job. If you don’t like what he is doing and you want to run or have someone else in mind to run as MP, just get out there do something about it. Or just be quiet and mind your own business. To me, it’s OCI all the way.
IN THE DARK ABOUT COST
The politicians and ex-politicians hankering after UN membership have still not told us how much it would cost to maintain a presence in New York.
Driven through Muri lately? Muri’s roads are still a complete mess, potholes are developing in the new tar seal not long after being laid, old potholes are getting larger day by day. Whoever it was given the task to reinstate this section of road by Te Aponga Uira, they really need to have their workmen trained to do this kind of road works. What a waste of taxpayer’s funds! If a job is worth doing, it properly!
LEAVE OUR GEORGE ALONE
The smoke signallers who continue to victimise George Maggie in your paper have forgotten that Maggie had the highest votes ever attained in the history of any election in our country. Leave the man alone. He is happy humbly serving his constituency.
WORD OF WARNING
To the airheaded thugs who broke into the Cinema last Monday, be careful, because you are being watched.
NOT SO HEALTHY
Sad that the private sector has to prop up our ailing health system in the outer islands as the government seems to be abandoning it. One less overseas trip may have meant the health department would not have had to go cap in hand to CIGT. Shame on you, Nandi Glassie.
“Chinese buildings are useless”, says an Australian Senator. In the case of the Cook Islands, the buildings weren’t entirely Chinese. T& M Heather contributed a vital component. Supply of all of the sand and cement was a local contract, and definitely not handled by the Chinese.
