We would like to say meitaki maata to:
1. Our minister and MP for Tupapa-Maraerenga George Angene and his team of workers from within his ministry and from the Arorangi Prison, who have given us the help we needed to cut down some old mango trees that were endangering our home.
They spent two days cutting back the trees and the third day on clearing the yard of the debris.
2. MP for Akaoa Nooroa Baker and his team for assisting in cleaning and mulching the tree leaves and branches on the third day.
They gave their time willingly and without cost, except for us providing some luncheon and cold water for the boys doing the work.
Most important as well is that these two MPs did the work without any political connotation but a willingness to help the people who needed the assistance, especially as pensioners.
Furthermore, they are good role models for other MPs to follow.
We are a very small nation and our people would truly benefit from this “People First and Foremost” and “Politics in the Closet”.
Again “thank you” to both of you and your team.
