Some years ago, our young son fell in with the wrong crowd, as they say, followed along to an attempted break-in, was arrested and put on curfew.
Officers would wake us up in the middle of the night, apologise, and just want to know the lad was home. We were never unhappy with this and indeed we thanked the officers for caring.
While Trevor Pitt puts some amazing spin on some questionable activities and attitudes on the part of our policewomen and men, he is 100 per cent correct when he says that we, as a community, should be thanking the police for “curfew duty”, which must be a very difficult part of the job.
